Category 1: Essential Personal Gear

These are the fundamental items every player must bring to every training session to ensure safety and readiness.

1. Footwear

Choosing the right footwear directly impacts performance and injury prevention.

  • Cleats (Studded Boots): Necessary for maximizing grip and preventing slips on natural grass or firm outdoor turf fields. Proper traction is essential for safe change-of-direction movements during speed and agility training.

  • Flats/Turf Shoes: Ideal for training on hard ground, indoor turf, or gym floors. They provide more cushioning and stability than traditional cleats.

  • Running Shoes: Essential for warm-ups, conditioning runs, and specific elements of strength training for soccer off the pitch.

2. Protection and Safety

Safety is always the priority in youth soccer training.

  • Shin Guards: Mandatory. They protect the lower legs from impact and reduce the risk of serious injury during tackles.

  • Proper Socks: Knee-high socks are needed to secure the shin guards and prevent friction.

  • Water Bottle (Large Capacity): Hydration is non-negotiable for high-intensity training. Always bring a large, insulated bottle to maintain peak physical and cognitive function throughout the session.

Category 2: Crucial Training Accessories

While our coaches provide specialized tools like resistance bands and agility ladders, a few personal accessories are key for personalized drills and enhancing skill work.

1. Soccer Ball

This is the single most important training tool.

  • High-Quality Ball: The ball should be properly inflated and match the player’s age-appropriate size (e.g., Size 4 for younger youth, Size 5 for older youth). Having a personal ball ensures continuous touch work before and after a private soccer training session.

  • Consistent Contact: Players should become intimately familiar with the weight and feel of their personal ball. This helps build the precise touch needed for elite play.

2. Training Vests/Bibs

  • Personal Bib: While clubs often provide these, having a personal, distinct colored bib is useful for small-group drills and for sessions with a soccer personal trainer, allowing for quick team differentiation.

3. Cones or Markers

  • Small Cones (Markers): A set of 4-6 small cones is highly recommended for individual practice. They allow players to quickly set up technical drills, dribbling patterns, and quick-foot exercises for solo training.

Category 3: Goalkeeper Specific Gear

Goalkeepers require additional specialized soccer training equipment to protect their hands and optimize their development.

  • Goalkeeper Gloves: A non-negotiable item. Gloves provide grip, padding, and wrist support essential for handling high-velocity shots. Goalies should have multiple pairs for practice and games.

  • Padded Apparel: Goalkeeper training involves constant diving and landing. Padded shorts and long-sleeved jerseys help prevent scrapes and impact bruising, allowing for high-repetition practice necessary for goalkeeper training near me.

  • Properly Sized Goal: While not personal gear, access to a proper goal is vital. Our facilities in Huntington Beach ensure the correct setting for targeted shot-stopping drills.

Daniel Alkmim Coach at Br Elite Soccer

Daniel Alkmim – Founder
BR Elite Soccer Club was founded by Daniel Alkmim, a former elite player with solid experience in both futsal and field soccer. Born and raised in Brazil, Daniel honed his skills at the renowned Zico Academy, where he trained under mentors from the Brazilian National Team and Zico himself — one of the greatest legends in the history of Brazilian football.

After standing out in Brazil, Daniel continued his career in the United States, competing at the collegiate level in NCAA Division I and Division II. His playing style blended the creativity and flair of Brazilian football with the physical preparation and tactical structure of American college competition. Unfortunately, his professional aspirations were cut short by injuries, but his passion for the sport only grew stronger.

Daniel transitioned into a coaching career with the mission of passing on his high-level knowledge to the next generation. Through BR Elite Soccer Training, he built a reputation for technical excellence, game intelligence, and a unique player-centered approach. Now, with the creation of BR Elite development academy, his goal is to provide athletes with both top-tier training and the help them bring it to the competitive platform of the SOCAL Soccer League.
